I’m excited that my October Premium Boxycharm box is here already! This is the second month that it’s arrive a bit on the earlier end.
The choice items were not anything that I was excited about this month, so I was really hoping the remaining items would be useful and fun.
I’m actually planning to keep every single item this month, which rarely happens, so this box is a definite win for me!
I’ll explain exactly how Boxycharm works below, as well as share a complete review of the products that I did end up getting in my Boxycharm Premium box. If you already know the deal, skip on down to the October 2021 BoxyCharm Premium Review heading.

What Is Boxycharm?
Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription. They send a variety of full size skin care, hair care, and makeup products and tools each month.
Each month there is a theme. This month it’s “”
How Does Boxycharm Work?
This is where things get a little bit confusing, so I will try to break it down and make it easy to understand.
Boxycharm has 3 different types of boxes, their regular monthly base box, a premium monthly box, and a luxury box that is only available quarterly.
Initially, I wanted to only sign up for the premium box. I kept seeing a button for “Join The Waitlist” but every time I clicked it, it took me to the page to sign up for the regular monthly box.
As it turns out, you have to be a subscriber to the monthly base box in order to be able to add-on the Premium box. That’s right, you will get two different boxes each month – each with its own cost (more on that in a minute). You can unsubscribe from the base box after that first month and just keep the Premium, if you want.
BoxyLuxe is a luxury box available every 3 months. You pay an additional fee to upgrade your base box to a luxury box. More details on this box are below.
How Much Does Boxycharm Cost?
Here’s a quick breakdown of each box, how much it costs, and what you can expect to get.
- BoxyCharm Monthly Base Box: this box is $25.00 a month. You will receive 5 full size beauty products, one of which you get to choose, with a value of at least $120.00. There is a huge variety of brands from lesser known brands to very popular brands. There are also many box variations each month, so what I have in my box may be completely different from what you will receive.
- BoxyCharm Premium: to get this box, you must be subscribed to the base box for $25.00/month, then join the waitlist for Premium. Once you are activated from the waitlist, you pay an additional $39.99/month for this box. There is a note that you can cancel either your base box or Premium box at anytime after the first month of being subscribed to both. The Premium box has 6-7 full size beauty products, two of which you get to choose, with a value of at least $175.00.
- BoxyLuxe: this is a quarterly box that replaces your base box if you choose to upgrade. The cost is an additional $25.00. You will get 8-9 full size beauty and lifestyle products, with the ability to choose up to 2 products. The value of this box is at least $250.
All of the boxes are eligible for add-on’s, access to the pop-up shops, and rewards for reviewing the products that you receive in your box each month.
It seems as if there is frequently a bonus for new subscribers, you can check out the current offers on the BoxyCharm website sign up page.
October 2021 Boxycharm Premium Review
111Skin Antioxidant Energising Essence ($100.00)
In addition to this essense, the first category for choices included:
I chose the 111Skin product because I’ve never seen any kind of results from lash enhancing products.
With that said, 111Skin is absolutely ridiculous when it comes to the cost.
I’m planning to start reviewing the 111Skin products that I’ve collected over the last year or so to see if they are really worth the insane price tag other than the fact a “renowned” plastic surgeon in another country developed it.
This essence is supposed to energise and rehydrate the skin to reveal fresh and radiant skin.
There is a note on the package that states this product contains NAC Y2, a unique fusion of actives which help to alleviate visible signs of aging and damage.
To make the ridiculous high price hurt even more, this product is made in China!
Roen Beauty VowBrow Pencil in Medium ($26.00)
The additional choice product for the second choice was:
- LYS BEAUTY No Limits Matte Bronzer
I didn’t care for either of these products at all, but went with the eye brow pencil because sometimes, on rare occasions, I might use one. I rarely use bronzer.
There really is nothing special about this. It’s just a brow pencil on one end and has a spoolie on the other.
One thing that I have seen lately in pencil products like this is that they only have a stick of pencil inside without a point, or any way to sharpen them.
I’m currently using an eyeliner that’s the same way and it drives me crazy. I want a sharp point when using a pencil product for more precise lines. This is likely going to be an issue for me with this pencil, as it has been with a couple others recently.
This product is made in Germany.
Voir Haircare Secrets In The Snow Soft Styling Foam ($22.00)
I’ve never heard of this brand before and was initially excited to get a mousse, but I think it’s more for curly hair. I was hoping it was just a volumizing mousse I could use just in my roots before drying.
I have pretty straight hair, unless it’s summer and we are at the beach, in which case it transforms so much that it looks like I went out and got a perm.
I think I’m going to give it a try anyway. If it doesn’t work well for just volume, I’ll save it until next summer.
This product is made in Canada.
Benefit Cosmetics Georgia Golden Peach Blush ($30.00)
I like Benefit Cosmetics and I like peachier shades of blush. However, I only wear them in the summer.
I think that this is a new product for Benefit and it’s really cute packaging. I’ll give it a try once spring rolls around again.
This product is made in France.
Dew Of The Gods Under Eye Volumizing Collagen Pads ($20.00)
I’m not the biggest fan of under eye masks. I always forget to use them and have never seen amazing results from using them.
But, they are kind of fun to try out. I do like that this tin comes with 10 individually wrapped sets of masks. I’ll give them a try and then if I don’t like them, I’ll pass along the rest to someone else.
I’m not sure where they are made. The packaging only states they are distributed by Dew Beauty Inc., Canada.
Tarte Maneater Plumping Gloss in Buff ($19.00)
This is my favorite product this month.
I love that it’s a plumping gloss as my already thin lips are only getting thinner with age. And, I love that it’s a nice, neutral shade and not some out there color that only a select few can try to pull off.
I opened this and tried it right away. It takes a few seconds for the tingling to start and it gets more and more intense, but it’s not unbearable or anything.
Within a few minutes, but lips definitely looked fuller. The tingling lasts for a little bit, so if you’re sensitive to the tingling you may want to skip this one.
This product is made in the USA (yay!) and the box states it is a sample and not for resale, although it is full size.
Final Thoughts
The retail value of my particular box is $217.00, though the 111Skin is almost half of that.
This is a pretty good box for me. I love the lip plumper and will be keeping all of the rest of the items, which is rare for me.
I’m definitely at a point where I don’t need much. It’s more about getting to try new things, but I also don’t want to hoard a bunch of things.
I would say this box is another win for me, unlike the base box, which I just canceled.
