The June Premium Boxycharm box is the second box since Boxycharm starting allowing subscribers to choose 2 of their items.
I’m actually really liking this feature. I know at least 2 items are products that I want.
There were a bunch of options for choice between the two categories. This didn’t leave as many “filler” options, but there were still some good options.
Following my string of bad luck lately, I didn’t get any of the items that I really wanted to try, but overall my box isn’t too bad.
I’ll explain exactly how BoxyCharm works below, as well as share a complete review of the products that I did end up getting in my BoxyCharm Premium box. If you already know the deal, skip on down to the Junw 2021 BoxyCharm Premium Review heading.

What Is Boxycharm?
Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription. They send a variety of full size skin care, hair care, and makeup products and tools each month.
Each month there is a theme. This month it’s “Dare to Dazzle.”
How Does Boxycharm Work?
This is where things get a little bit confusing, so I will try to break it down and make it easy to understand.
Boxycharm has 3 different types of boxes, their regular monthly base box, a premium monthly box, and a luxury box that is only available quarterly.
Initially, I wanted to only sign up for the premium box. I kept seeing a button for “Join The Waitlist” but every time I clicked it, it took me to the page to sign up for the regular monthly box.
As it turns out, you have to be a subscriber to the monthly base box in order to be able to add-on the Premium box. That’s right, you will get two different boxes each month – each with its own cost (more on that in a minute). You can unsubscribe from the base box after that first month and just keep the Premium, if you want.
BoxyLuxe is a luxury box available every 3 months. You pay an additional fee to upgrade your base box to a luxury box. More details on this box are below.
How Much Does Boxycharm Cost?
Here’s a quick breakdown of each box, how much it costs, and what you can expect to get.
- BoxyCharm Monthly Base Box: this box is $24.99 a month. You will receive 5 full size beauty products, one of which you get to choose, with a value of at least $120.00. There is a huge variety of brands from lesser known brands to very popular brands. There are also many box variations each month, so what I have in my box may be completely different from what you will receive.
- BoxyCharm Premium: to get this box, you must be subscribed to the base box for $24.99/month, then join the waitlist for Premium. Once you are activated from the waitlist, you pay an additional $35.00/month for this box. There is a note that you can cancel either your base box or Premium box at anytime after the first month of being subscribed to both. The Premium box has 6-7 full size beauty products, two of which you get to choose, with a value of at least $175.00.
- BoxyLuxe: this is a quarterly box that replaces your base box if you choose to upgrade. The cost is an additional $25.00. You will get 8-9 full size beauty and lifestyle products, with the ability to choose up to 2 products. The value of this box is at least $250.
All of the boxes are eligible for add-on’s, access to the pop-up shops, and rewards for reviewing the products that you receive in your box each month.
It seems as if there is frequently a bonus for new subscibers, you can check out the current offers on the BoxyCharm website sign up page.

June 2021 Boxycharm Premium Review
Dominique Cosmetics Transition Palette ($48.00)
The first category for choices included:
- MARC JACOBS BEAUTY – Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara or At Lash’d Lengthening and Curling Mascara
- DOMINIQUE COSMETICS – Transition Palette
I haven’t had the best luck with mascaras and still have a bunch to use up, so I chose the palette.
This is a really great neutral palette for everyday looks. It would be equally as good for day looks as evening looks.
I also have a bunch of brand new palettes, and I’m not 100% sure I’m going to keep this one even though I love almost all of the neutral shades in it.
This product is made in the U.S.A. and assembled in the Dominican Republic.
Natasha Denona Transformatte Foundation in Light Warm ($45.00)
The products for the second choice were:
- LAURA MERCIER – Blush Color Infusion (3 shades to chose from)
- NATASHA DENONA – Transformatte Foundation (29 shades to chose from)
- ONE/SIZE – Eye Popper Sparkle Vision Eyeshadow (4 shades to chose from)
- ONE/SIZE – Secure the Blur Hydrating Under Eye Patches
- LAURA MERCIER – Pure Canvas Primer Protecting, Illuminating or Perfecting
- LORAC – Unzipped Eye Shadow Palette in Brazen, Unfiltered or Unauthorized
This choice was a bit harder for me. The Lorac eyeshadow palettes are really pretty, but I didn’t want to choose a second palette.
I don’t know anything about the One/Size brand and didn’t need blush or a primer right now.
Do I need foundation? Not really, but it is a product that I haven’t gotten much in beauty subscription boxes, so I chose the Natasha Denona Transformatte Foundation in the shade 22W Light Warm.
I have naturally light skin, but do use self-tanner in the spring and summer. I thought this shade might work in between applications.
I tried this on the back of my hand as soon as I opened the box. It blends beautifully and looks very natural.
I only use foundation on my nose and cheeks to hide pores and even my skin tone so the matte formula works for me, but I don’t think it would be good all over or on dry skin.
It seems to be a medium coverage, but is buildable.
This product is made in Italy.
Luxie Glitter and Gold Brush Set ($85.00)
I am more than a little annoyed to get yet another set of brushes, especially when I just got a set last month! However, this set seems to be of better quality and has 8 brushes vs. 3 brushes.
The bristles are soft and more tightly packed. The case is actual fabric and not paper like the Laruce set that I got last month.
This set includes flat contour, tapered highlighter, foundation, tapered blending, medium angled shading, large shader, concealer and small angle brushes.
I don’t see this set for sale anywhere, but this one is very similar.
I’m probably going to keep these and donate or pass along the other sets I have that I haven’t tried yet.
I can’t find a definite answer, but it does look as if these brushes are made in China.
Moroccan Oil Perfect Defense ($28.00)
Thankfully, I did get one of the items I was hoping for. I have heard great things about this brand, but can’t remember if I’ve ever tried anything.
This is a heat protectant spray that should be applied prior to heat styling.
I do use a leave on cream on the days I wash my hair, but this is great for the touch-ups with the flat iron in between washes.
This product is made in the U.S.A.
Floss Beauty The Concierge Cheek & Lip Tint ($22.00)
I’m not really a fan of this brand. It feels like a brand more for teenagers. This is just an opinion based on the name and packaging.
I got this tint in the shade Sandals which is a neutral, dark mauve color. It would be good for fall.
The color is actually really pretty so I am a little torn between keeping it and giving Floss a chance, or passing it along.
While I don’t think this color is very summery, I definitely think it may work better on me when I have self-tanner on.
This item is made in China.
Lashaholic Luxury Lashes in Kiss Me ($15.99)
I may be one in a million, but I actually like getting lashes in my Boxycharm boxes. Although, I never wear them.
I would wear them, but I’m a work-from-home mama and with everything going on in the world I just haven’t been out and about much.
These are really pretty, but appear to be pretty long. They might be a bit too long for me, but I’m going to give them a try anyway…someday!
I can’t find any information on where Lashaholic products are made.
Final Thoughts
The retail value of my particular box is $244.00.
This is an okay box for me. I’m most happy with the foundation, hair protectant spray, and the lashes. I’m okay with the brushes and on the fence about the palette and the tint.
I’m definitely at a point where I don’t need anything. It’s more about getting to try new things, but I also don’t want to hoard a bunch of things.
July 2021 Boxycharm Premium Choice Options
The July 2021 Boxycharm Premium box is going to be an Anastasia Beverly Hills and Norvina takeover. This is when all of the products in the box are from a single brand. Norvina is a new Anastasia sister brand.
The FIRST choice items for the July 2021 Boxycharm Premium box are:
The SECOND choice items for the June 2021 Boxycharm Premium box are:
- ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Powder Bronzer (3 shades to choose from)
- ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Loose Setting Powder (5 shades to choose from)
- ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Hydrating Oil
I don’t really care for either of the palettes in the first category. I chose the Vol. 1 palette.
In the second category, I chose the setting powder in translucent. Again, I wasn’t too excited for these choices.
I do like this brand and am excited to see what else comes next month!
