My Review
This review is based solely on my own personal use of the product over a period of time. In this case I used the entire bottle over a period of several months.
I do also research other reviews and ratings to see if there are any other pros or cons to the product that come up often that may not have affected me.
My Skin Type
I have normal to combination skin. I do get a tad oily, mostly around my nose. There are visible pores on my nose and cheeks. I do not get blemishes often.
There is a larger dark spot on one check and some smaller spots or freckling around my eyes. I also have several areas of melasma under my eyes and on my cheeks.
I’m in my mid-forties with only slight fine lines around my eyes that become more visible when I smile. I am also noticing a decrease in firmness lately.
There are dark circles under my eyes and especially in the inner corners of my eyes.
How I Use The Peeling Solution
I used this peeling about once a week, typically in the morning just because it was easier to fit into my routine then.
The idea is to apply just a very thin layer on completely dry skin. Using too much or applying to damp skin can increase any potential irritation.
Because I did this, and because I don’t have sensitive skin in general, I didn’t experience any significant irritation other than some slight tingling when the mask was on.
The results have been really good for me. After using this mask my skin always feels soft and very smooth. It also appears to have a healthy glow to it.
I have since bought a second bottle.
Cons
No one product is perfect for everyone.
This product is not recommended for people with sensitive skin or with compromised skin.
After reading through many reviews of this product, there is one main issue that comes up repeatedly and that’s irritation.
Irritation could be due to the formula being too strong for an individual’s skin type or improper usage like using too much product, not thoroughly drying the skin before applying the mask, or from leaving the mask on too long.
As always, I do recommend trying this product if you think the benefits outweigh the cons for your own skin type.
Products from The Ordinary are so budget-friendly that they are absolutely worth trying.
