It’s time for the spring 2023 FabFitFun box!
As a reminder, annual subscribers can choose all of their items. Seasonal subscribers are still limited to only being able to choose from the first three categories.
I am an annual member and chose each item in my box. I definitely feel the boxes are more fit for me, and I have less items that I don’t want.
Overall I’m happy with the items that I chose this spring. It wasn’t a complete hit for me, but that’s probably my own fault for not reading the descriptions better.
I do feel a little rushed when it comes time to choose since some items sell out within minutes.
For those not familiar with FabFitFun, I’ll try to explain how it all works and answer any questions you might have. If you already know the deal, then skip on ahead to check out all of the items!
Table of Contents
What Is FabFitFun?
FabFitFun is a women’s lifestyle subscription box that ships quarterly. Each box is curated for the season and contains fashion, beauty, home, travel, fitness, food items, and more!
They used to include a magazine, but I think it’s all online now. I spend way too much time online as it is, so as much as I usually enjoy the magazine, I probably won’t read it on the website.
Can You Customize Your FabFitFun Box?
Yes, there are multiple ways to customize you box including the standard box choices, adding on box choices, and by shopping add-on’s, Boost My Box and Refills.
Just be aware that customization closes before boxes start to ship so you may have to wait until the next box to be able to customize.
Standard Box Choices
Each quarter, subscribers get to choose some or all of the items they will receive. If you become an annual subscriber, you get to customize your entire box now. Seasonal members usually get to choose items from 3 categories.
Additional Box Choices
I also love that most quarters, FabFitFun allows you to add on additional choice items for much lower than the original cost.
Add On’s and Boost My Box
In addition to being able to add on additional choice items, FabFitFun also opens a window of time where you can purchase add-ons for significantly lower prices than the retail cost.
Annual subscribers get access first and usually the best stuff is sold out right away. But it’s always worth checking out multiple times as people have a few days to change their minds and update their carts before they are charged.
The Boost My Box option is still pretty new. It’s an option to add 1 of 3 “luxury” items to your box for a discounted rate. I didn’t choose to boost my box this season.
If you choose to become a seasonal member, an extra perk of buying an additional choice item or add-on items, is that your FabFitFun box will be shipped in the first wave, after annual subscribers.
** Keep in mind that the window to customize your items closes before boxes ship. If you sign up after the window is closed, you won’t get to choose items until the next season’s box.
How Much Does FabFitFun Cost?
FabFitFun is regularly $59.99 a quarter. Each box contains over $200.00 in items (usually well over)! You can also pay for a year (4 boxes) upfront for a total of $219.99 which saves you $20.00 over the year and also gives you additional benefits including:
- complete customization
- access to add-ons before anyone else
- earlier shipping

Now that we got through all of that, let’s see what’s in this season’s box!
FabFitFun Spring 2023 Review
Please keep in mind that some items will vary and that you will not have the ability to choose items at this time. The window to choose items is only open for a short period of time, before boxes start shipping out.
Note: the first box when you join is usually a Member’s Picks Box (or something similar) which may or may not contain some of these items. There has also been a bit of customization available with this intro box, as well.
Kate Spade Samantha Sunglasses ($129.00)
This category did have a good variety of items and I was a bit torn or what to choose, but didn’t love anything enough to add on anything.
It turned out to be a great decision to go with the sunglasses as I just discovered one of the lenses in my current go-to pair was cracked.
The cat eye design isn’t something I usually wear, so I’ll have to get used to that, but they look nice and seem well made.
A nice surprise was seeing that these are actually available on the Kate Spade website for the same price, and not just a FabFitFun exclusive.
With that said, they are made in China, so the mark up is obviously ridiculous.
Jonathan Adler Ribbed Glasses ($35.00)
In this second category, I ended up adding on a second item.
The first item I picked was this set of 2 ribbed glasses.
I don’t know where the glasses disappear to in our home, but at the time I chose this we desperately needed some new ones.
These are thick and heavy and hopefully won’t break easily. I really like them.
They are also made in China.
Commodity Gold Fragrance ($70.00)
I chose to add on this fragrance because I’m almost out of all of mine and the reviews were really good.
I have to say, I love the scent. It’s a combination of vanilla, amber and musk.
It’s one ounce, so a really decent size too!
This product is made in the USA.
Fekkai Clean Stylers Root Lift Volume Spray ($28.00)
I do try to avoid beauty products as much as possible because of my current stash, but I didn’t have a root spray and could really use one.
I’ve had great experiences with the Fekkai brand, so I’m hopeful this will work well.
It’s made in the USA.
Fenty Beauty Portable Contour and Concealer Brush ($24.00)
In category 4, I also chose 2 items.
This is where I messed up.
I really though that this product was a contour and brush in one, but it’s just a brush. I should have ready the description better because the last thing I needed was another brush.
It seems nice, but I’ll donate or gift this one.
This product is made in China.
Amika Dream Routine Overnight Hydration Treatment ($28.00)
At the time that I chose this, I was having an uncommon bought of really dry, flaky skin.
Thankfully that seems to have worked itself out, but there’s probably no harm in a little extra hydration.
I may not break into this until fall or winter though, when I need it the most.
This product is made in the USA.
Earth Harbor Azure Regenerative Neck Cream ($48.00)
Here I am with yet another skin care product.
I actually really like the Earth Harbor brand and don’t currently have a neck cream so here we are.
I also didn’t care or need the other choices.
I haven’t tried this yet, but I did open it and appreciate that the scent is on the lighter side. The last neck cream I had was heavily floral scented.
This product is made in the USA.
Glamnetic Reusable Press-on Nails in Creamer ($20.00)
I wasn’t too excited about the choices in the last category, but thought the press-on nails could be fun. Now, I’m not so sure.
I opened the box and I’m not sure that there is 10 that will fit me. I’d say my nails are average to small in size. I picked 10 out that might work, but the curve in them is strong, and I’ll have to try to press them out flatter when gluing them on.
The entire rest of the pack won’t work at all, so it feels wasteful for me.
I also don’t love the shape on me, but they can be cut and filed.
This product is made in China.
Spring 2023 Add On’s
Besides the two extra category items that I chose, I didn’t purchase any other add-on’s this season.
FabFitFun Spring 2023 Final Thoughts
Overall I was pretty happy with this box. Again, the choices were beauty-heavy, but at least a couple of the items I really needed so it didn’t feel like I was contributing as much to my current beauty product stash.
I am still heavy on subscription box overload. I canceled Boxycharm and Allure several months back and seriously considered canceling FabFitFun, but just couldn’t bring myself to do it when my renewal date came around.
Since reviews are just a matter of personal opinion, let’s talk about value of the Spring 2023 FabFitFun box.
- Is this seasons box worth the money that I paid for it? In my opinion, yes. I received $382.00 worth of items that I got to choose, although I am sure some are very inflated (especially the sunglasses). For me, what makes a box “worth it” is if I will use the large majority of the products and this season I will use all but the brush and maybe the nails.
- Next, does this box fit the season? I think the items that I chose this season are more evergreen, but other choices were definitely more spring-like.
- Does this box hit on Fab, Fit, and Fun? My answer is usually the same. There are always plenty of “fab” and “fun” items, but the “fit” section is usually lacking. This season there wasn’t anything that I would consider a fitness item.

I have subscribed for years and cancelled this year. All of the “good stuff” is sold out immediately and I get boxes of the left over junk no one ordered. Selections open mid day on a week day so if you work you are out of luck. When I cancelled my subscription I could not be refunded, I had to accept and pay for 2 more boxes of randomly selected items. Very disappointed in the customer service and availability of quality items.

Hi Wendy! I’ve definitely seen a lot of people have this issue. I think they are now adding more items as the days go on, so more people may start logging in later and swapping things out. If you have a couple of months left, I’d definitely check the choices a few times before the window closes to see if the items you really want become available again.
