When Alltrue, formerly known as Causebox, reached out to me to ask if I’d be willing to try their subscription box and write a review on it, I immediately said yes!
I really love lifestyle boxes, like FabFitFun, and have had my eye on Alltrue for a little while now.
Of course each subscription box company is unique and their offerings and additional membership perks vary.
For those not familiar with Alltrue, I’ll explain how this membership works and answer any questions you might have. If you already know the deal, then skip on ahead to check out all of the items that came in my Summer Welcome Box!

What Is Alltrue?
Alltrue is a women’s lifestyle subscription box that ships quarterly. Each box is curated for the season and contains 5-8 sustainable, ethical products that can be fashion, beauty, home, travel, and fitness related.
Can You Customize Your Alltrue Box?
Yes.
Annual members, or those who pay for a year’s membership upfront, can customize their entire box.
Seasonal members, or those who pay quarterly, can customize up to 3 items for each box.
Choice +
If you are having a hard time deciing on which choice item to choose for your box, Alltrue now offers the ability to add multiple items from each category for an addiitonal low members-only price.
Add On Market
Each quarter, Alltrue opens a window of time where members can purchase add-ons for significantly lower prices, up to 70% off, than the retail cost.
The Add On Market contains over 800 additional items that can be purchased around the same time that you curate your box. These name-brand household items range from everything from toiletries to accessories and so much more!
Add On’s are currently shipping separate from the seasonal Alltrue box.
Alltrue also just launched an Essential Shop which is open year-round. This shop is filled with everyday items and orders ship within 2 business days.
How Much Does Alltrue Cost?
Alltrue is regularly $54.95 a quarter. Each box contains over $250.00 in items (the Welcome Box will contain over $120.00 in items). You can also pay for a year (4 boxes) upfront for a total of $199.80 which saves you $20.00 over the year and also gives you the ability to curate your entire box.
The Welcome Box is free with an annual membership and $25.00 with a seasonal membership.
Each box comes with a 48 page abridged version of Alltrue’s magazine, All Good Things. You have the option to upgrade to a 100+ page version each quarter.
Shipping is free for all members within the Contiguous U.S., and $7.95 for those in Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. Territories and Canada.
Now that we got through all of that, let’s see what’s in this box!
Alltrue Summer Welcome Box Review
I was sent this box complimentary, so I did not get to curate it myself. Some of the items are things I would have chosen, and while some are not, I actually will still use every item I received.
I also tell you what other items you may receive should you sign up for a subscription before the Alltrue Summer Welcome Box sells out.
Bala 1/2 Pound Weighted Bangles ($40.00)
These weighted bangles are each just 1/2 pound. They are very stretchy so one size fits all.
You can wear them on your wrists or ankles.
They appear to be well-made and I love that the “weights” are smooth and lay flat. This makes them very comfortable to wear.
I wouldn’t have chosen these, only because I have very similar weights at home, but now I can wear one set on my ankles and one on my wrists.
Members may receive this item in bone, marble, charcoal.
The other items members could choose from include:
- MPOWERD Luci Solar String Lights ($44.95)
- Palm + Perkins Canvas Backpack in Sage ($48.00)
- LSTN Wanderlust Travel Speaker ($99.99)
- Boon Supply Travel Weekender Bag in Pebble ($48.00)
- Ashiana London Summer Tassel Wrap ($58.00)
If I were to have curated this entire box myself, I probably would have chosen the backpack. I think it would come in handy when going on family outings with the kids.
Reduce By Reduce To-Go Bowl ($20.00)
This is an insulated bowl. It would be great for taking hot meals to work for lunch.
My son does actually take a thermos to school sometimes. It’s smaller than this one though, and now that he’s a teenager, this larger size is probably more accommodating for his appetite!
The other choice items in this category are:
- Eco Eyewear Avala Tortoise Cateye Sunglasses ($135.00)
- Coalatree Packable Hammock by Coalatree ($64.00)
- Golden & Pine Set of 4 Waffle Dishcloths with Canvas Holder ($28.00)
- Palm + Perkins Set of 4 Upcycled Napkins ($38.00)
- MYTAGALONGS Set of 3 Packing Cubes ($42.00)
This would be a tough category for me to choose from. Initially, I thought the sunglasses would be my choice, but I do love the dishcloths and the hammock is pretty intriguing.
Pepper + Vetiver Set of 3 Nesting Bowls ($36.00)
I love these bowls!
They come in 3 sizes and with 3 different shades of blue and green.
These are beautiful and will definitely get plenty of use!
The other options that members can choose from include:
- Boon Supply Mini Colander & Bowl ($16.00)
- Artisan Direct Milky Way Lantern ($40.00)
- COSMEDIX Plant-Based Retinol Alternative Serum ($80.00)
I would have likely chosen the bowls in this category. I also like the lantern.
Sanctuary Project Thick Gold Hoops ($38.00)
These are really cute earrings for everyday wear. I love that they are more brushed and not shiny.
Unfortunately, one of mine arrived with scratches. The scratches are probably not going to be noticeably when wearing them, thankfully.
The other items members can choose from in this category are:
- Small:Hours Traveling Cutlery Set ($25.00)
- COSMEDIX Moisturizing Hyaluronic Acid Cream ($60.00)
I would have picked the earrings or the travel cutlery.
Brand With A Heart OMG Leave-in Conditioner ($18.00)
This leave-in condition is meant to help protect color and provide heat protection.
I do use a leave-in conditioner on the days that I wash and dry my hair, which is about twice a week.
It has a very tropical, coconut scent to it.
The other choice items in this category are:
- Way of Will Brightening Face Serum ($37.50)
- Volim Love Scrub ($56.00)
- Ettika Solo Stone Bracelet ($35.00)
This would have been a hard category for me to choose from, as well. I have a ton of beauty products from other subscription boxes to work my way though still.
I probably would pick either this conditioner or the scrub.
Hanalei Company Hawaiian SPF 15 Lip Trio ($20.00)
This was a great addition to a summer box. These lip balms come in unscented, island mint and tropical citrus.
We have a late August beach trip planned so these are already packed and ready to go!
In this category, members could have also chosen:
- Adesse New York Power Couple Nail Care Duo ($36.00)
I probably would have chosen the lip balm trio in this category.
Alltrue Summer Welcome Box Final Thoughts
I love that new annual members will get to curate their first Welcome Box entirely (seasonal members get to choose 2 items). While I didn’t get this opportunity (yet!), because this box was a gift, I did find that I would have loved an item from each category.
But, since reviews are just a matter of personal opinion, let’s talk about value of the Summer Welcome Box.
- Is this Welcome Box worth it? In my opinion, yes. You will receive over $120.00 worth of items, 2 of which you get to choose with a seasonal membership, all of which you get to choose with an annual membership. For me, what really makes a box “worth it” is if I will use the large majority of the products. Obviously, if you are choosing some or all your own items, then you already know if you will be using them or possibly even gifting them.
- Next, does this box fit the season? I would say yes, most items have either a very summery feel to them or are items that can be useful all year long.
I’m considering signing up for an annual membership now. Because I already received the summer Welcome Box, I may hold off until the fall Welcome Box is available later this month.
