Boxycharm was really making me worry with the lackluster choice items offered in both the premium and base box this month that the entire box was going to be a let down.
Thankfully, that didn’t happen. I’m actually surprised by how much I love this box and think it’s even better than my premium box this month.
Below, I will explain exactly how BoxyCharm works below, as well as share my thoughts on the items that I received. If you already know the deal, skip on down to the November 2020 BoxyCharm Review heading.

What Is Boxycharm?
Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription. They send a variety of skin care, hair care, and makeup products and tools each month.
How Does Boxycharm Work?
This is where things get a little bit confusing, so I will try to break it down and make it easy to understand.
Boxycharm has 3 different types of boxes, their regular monthly base box, a premium monthly box, and a luxury box that is only available quarterly.
Initially, I wanted to only sign up for the premium box. I kept seeing a button for “Join The Waitlist” but every time I clicked it, it took me to the page to sign up for the regular monthly box.
As it turns out, you have to be a subscriber to the monthly base box in order to be able to add-on the Premium box. That’s right, you will get two different boxes each month – each with it’s own cost (more on that in a minute).
BoxyLuxe is a luxury box available every 3 months. You pay an additional fee to upgrade your base box to a luxury box. More details on this box are below.
How Much Does Boxycharm Cost?
Here’s a quick breakdown of each box, how much it costs, and what you can expect to get.
- BoxyCharm Monthly Base Box: this box is $24.99 a month. You will receive 5 full size beauty products, one of which you get to choose, with a value of at least $120.00. There is a huge variety of brands from lesser known brands to very popular brands. There are also many box variations each month, so what I have in my box may be completely different from what you will receive.
- BoxyCharm Premium: to get this box, you must be subscribed to the base box for $24.99/month, then join the waitlist for Premium. Once you are activated from the waitlist, you pay an additional $35.00/month for this box. There is a note that you can cancel either your base box or Premium box at anytime after the first month of being subscribed to both. The Premium box has 6-7 full size beauty products, one of which you get to choose, with a value of at least $175.00.
- BoxyLuxe: this is a quarterly box that replaces your base box if you choose to upgrade. The cost is an additional $25.00. You will get 8-9 full size beauty and lifestyle products, with the ability to choose up to 2 products. The value of this box is at least $250.
All of the boxes are eligible for add-on’s, access to the pop-up shops, and rewards for reviewing the products that you receive in your box each month.
It seems as if there is frequently a bonus for new subscibers, you can check out the current offers on the BoxyCharm website sign up page.

November 2020 Boxycharm Review
Milk Makeup Kush Waterproof Mascara ($24.00)
This is the item that I chose this month. The other choice items were Benefit Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel or Jouer Essential Lip Enhancer which I literally just received in my October box.
The first thing I noticed is how heavy the packaging is. When I opened the box, I realized it’s because the tube is made of metal, although it is also quick large for mascara.
It’s not an exciting item, but I have really liked the products I’ve tried from Milk Makeup so far and expect that this will be decent, as well. The only issue I can see is that because it’s waterproof, it may be a pain to wash off completely.
Natasha Denona Peak Palette ($48.00)
This palette is a Boxy Exclusive. This means that the brand made a palette exclusively for Boxycharm.
Natasha Denona is a high-end brand so I would expect that the formula will be equally as amazing as the rest of the products they carry.
The colors in this palette are beautiful and definitely have a fall vibe to them. They are warmer tones, and most should work for my skin tone, but I’m not so sure about that orange-red color.
I do love the brown, pink and the shimmer on the right end.
Yensa Pumpkin Turmeric 2-in-1 Radiance Polishing Mask ($45.00)
I was so happy to see this mask in my box. When I looked at all of the potential items subscribers could receive this month, I immediately noticed this product.
I’ve use a couple different pumpkin masks in the past and have always loved the way they make my skin look and feel. It says on the package that pumpkin boosts collagen, while turmeric soothes.
While I haven’t tried it on my skin yet, I did open the package and rubbed a little on the back of my hand.
It has a very fine grittiness to it and a very fresh, fruity scent.
Farsali Prive Quench Moisture Replenishing Serum ($24.00)
This is a great item to receive right before winter really starts showing up. It’s made with hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 to deeply hydrate.
I’ve got quite a bit of serums and moisturizers to try still, so I haven’t opened this one yet.
Jessica Blac Liquid Color Corrector 2.0 ($15.00)
I’ve gotten several products lately that are giving me hope that one day I’ll find one that actually works to cover up my dark circles without being cakey and gross looking.
This is a peachy-pink color which I have heard is best for covering dark circles.
I had to try this right away. I put it over the makeup I already had on and while it didn’t completely cover my dark circles, it didn’t cake up. I much prefer the pink color over any concealer that I’ve ever tried.
It also looks much better over my melasma and a larger dark spot I have on one of my cheeks.
I’m going to try it again under my other makeup and see how it looks that way next.
Final Thoughts
This box is a great one for me!
The retail value of this particular box variation is $156.00 according to the values listed by BoxyCharm. This is a great value for me, especially considering the $25 cost of this box and because I will use every item.
This month, I am most excited about the Yensa mask and the color corrector. I also love the eyeshadow palette.
Next month’s choice items were a bit different. Subscribers get to choose one of the following:
- Sutra Beauty – Mini Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron
- Glamnetic – Babygirl Lashes + Black Liquid Magnetic Liner – Black
- Glamnetic – Bella Lashes + Black Liquid Magnetic Liner – Black
- Ofra Cosmetics – Pressed Banana Powder
I get to choose early because I also subscribe to the Premium box, but even a couple hours after choice opened, the curling iron and the Bella lashes were out-of-stock.
I ended up choosing the Babygirl lashes.
