May 2020 Allure Beauty Box Review

Thanks for sharing!

See everything that came in the May 2020 Allure Beauty Box, what I thought of it all, and how you can join Allure too!

One of my Mother’s Day gifts this year was a subscription to Allure Beauty Box. I guess my fiancĂ© has actually noticed some of the other subscription boxes showing up now that he’s working from home more – oops!

I actually subscribed to Allure a few years back and almost always liked what came. They usually have a higher value than other beauty sample boxes and often send full size or deluxe size items.

I did receive April’s box, but I got in the second week of May. Sometimes when you first sign up, you’ll get the previous month’s box if there are any available, but it seems that Allure ships and arrives later? At least for me.

My May box showed up June 6.

What Is Allure’s Beauty Box?

Allure Beauty Box is a monthly beauty subscription box. They typically send deluxe samples and 2 full size items per box. Each box contains at least 5 items.

Items can include skin care, make up, perfume, and hair care products. They also include a small pamphlet with information about each product and why it was chosen.

Can You Customize Your Allure Box?

I have not seen any offers to customize any of the items in the monthly boxes.

How Much Does The Allure Beauty Box Cost?

The Allure Beauty Box is $15 a month. You can save $15 by paying for the year upfront.

Monthly subscriptions usually come with a free gift. Currently, the yearly subscription also comes with a “mega bundle” of 20 products worth over $250.

You can also purchase the subscription through Amazon. It does not seem as if you’ll get the free gifts this way, or other potential subscriber perks, but I have heard the boxes ship much faster through Amazon.

Skin Inc My Daily Dose of Glow Illuminate & Brightening Serum (Full Size) $65

I was so excited to see this full size facial serum from Skin Inc. This is only my second Allure box in years and I’m blown away at how much better it is now than what I remember.

This is a really good brand so I’m hopeful that this product will actually brighten my sometimes very dull skin. It’s also supposed to reduce under eye circles, an area that I’ve always struggled with.

The little droplets are hydrolyzed molecules of hyaluronic acid that hydrates and smooths.

It really sounds like a great product and I’m excited to try it!

AHC Essential Real Eye Cream For Face (Full Size) $29

The name of this eye cream product is a bit confusing. It IS an eye cream but you can use it over your entire face.

It’s supposed to reduce fine lines (yes!) as well as improve the texture and tone of your skin to appear more youthful.

It’s like this box was made for me.

VDL Lumilayer Primer $5

This primer is meant to give you a luminescent glow. I tend to find that these work great on their own, but once you put foundation over it, the glow aspect is gone.

I haven’t been wearing makeup most days since I’ve been stuck at home, so this is a nice way to look more “fresh” without makeup.

When Glamour Base Firming Sheet Mask $7

I love how easy sheet masks are. And, I’ll take all the firming.

Lack of firmness is one thing, besides smile lines that I’ve been noticing more and more lately, so I’ll definitely use this mask.

Acure Resurfacing Glycolic & Unicorn Root Cleanser $2

The name “Unicorn Root” threw me a bit. At first, I though this was something for your hair, but it’s actually a facial cleanser.

Glycolic acid is supposed to be great for removing dead skin cells and revealing fresh, younger looking skin. I’ll take it!

Curology Smooth Sailing Moisturizer $?

Curology is a brand that customizes your skin care routine for you. This item is not available to purchase on it’s own, only as part of a 3-item set for $59.90 every 2 months.

Allure sent out an email stating that there was a mix-up with the Curology brand and some of the moisturizer tubes were filling with a cleanser instead.

I am sure that I received the cleanser as it does foam up slightly when rubbed on the back of my hand with a small amount of water

The moisturizer is designed for normal to oily skin. It hydrates without clogging pores and is likely very good for people who struggle with acne.

I’m not sure if the cleanser is also for the same skin type.

Final Thoughts

I was sold on this box as soon as I saw that it would include the full size Skin Inc brightening serum. I’ll use every single item in this box, but may not get to the eye cream for awhile since I just got one in my Summer FabFitFun box.

So far, after my first two boxes, I feel that Allure’s Beauty Box is more than worth the $15 a month. I just wish my shipping and delivery would actually be in the month that the box is for.
