One of my Mother’s Day gifts this year was a subscription to Allure Beauty Box. I guess my fiancé has actually noticed some of the other subscription boxes showing up now that he’s working from home more – oops!
I actually subscribed to Allure a few years back and almost always liked what came. My first Allure box since signing back up was so good! They usually have a higher value than other beauty sample boxes and often send full size or deluxe size items.
I receive my boxes really late. My fiancé ordered the subscription through Amazon. I have heard that if you sign up later in the month, the box always ships later. I have asked him if he will cancel it and resubscribe on the 1st, but he hasn’t yet.
My June box showed up July 14. This is the latest one yet.
What Is Allure’s Beauty Box?
Allure Beauty Box is a monthly beauty subscription box. They typically send deluxe samples and 2 full size items per box. Each box contains at least 5 items.
Items can include skin care, make up, perfume, and hair care products. They also include a small pamphlet with information about each product and why it was chosen.
Can You Customize Your Allure Box?
I have not seen any offers to customize any of the items in the monthly boxes.
How Much Does The Allure Beauty Box Cost?
The Allure Beauty Box is $15 a month. You can save $15 by paying for the year upfront.
Monthly subscriptions usually come with a free gift. Currently, the yearly subscription also comes with a “mega bundle” of 20 products worth over $250.
You can also purchase the subscription through Amazon. It does not seem as if you’ll get the free gifts this way, or other potential subscriber perks, but I have heard the boxes ship much faster through Amazon (IF you sign up early in the month).
June 2020 Allure Subscription Box Review
Before I get into this review, let me warn you that I was personally not excited about any of the items, even before my box arrived.
It’s not that it’s a bad box, it’s not. It’s just my own personal lack of interest in some of these items OR the fact that I simply don’t need them at the moment.
Starskin 100% Camellia – Nourishing & Brightening 2-Step Oil Sheet Mask $10.00
Subscribers could receive this mask or a TONYMOLY Intense Care Snail 24K Hydrogel Mask. The TONYMOLY Mask is made with fermented snail mucus essence, so I’m kind of happy to have gotten the Starskin mask instead.
With that said, I don’t love sheet masks. They always slide around and are just uncomfortable to try to function with on. I am not very good at just sitting still for 15 minutes, nor do I often have the time.
I will most likely include this in a giveaway soon.
Purlisse Watermelon + Charcoal Purifying Cleanser (Full Size) $35.00
This is one of the 3 full size items in this month’s box. Subscribers could receive this item or Context Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream with the same value.
I never get excited for cleansers. I’m way more into serums, creams, and masks. But, they are definitely useful. This one is meant to hydrate, remove toxins, protect from cellular damage, and soothe sensitive skin.
In my opinion, this just seems like a lot of responsibility for a cleanser that you wash off immediately. I definitely look for these benefits more in products that are left on the skin to be absorbed.
I may or may not use this as I have a couple full size cleansers to work my way through at the moment. This may be included in a giveaway or I’ll pass it along instead.
Yensa Super 8 Lip Oil in Pink Shine (Full Size) $ 28.00
This is one of 3 full size items in this months box.
I have seen a lot of people commenting about how great this lip oil is. But, I honestly still have no interest in it even if it really good.
I just have too much to use up, so my lack of interest isn’t due to the brand or the product itself. It’s simply not something that I need or go through quickly enough to really justify keeping it for myself.
I’ll likely include this in a giveaway or pass it along to someone I know.
Dashing Diva Gloss Ultra Shine Gel Palette (Full Size) $8.00
Technically, this item is also considered full size.
These are a fun addition to the box. I have only ever had 2 sets of nail gels like these and really do love how quick and easy they are to use. With kids and a business to run, I don’t have as much time for paint to dry these days.
I don’t really care for some of the designs in this set, but I will use a couple of them.
Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb Aloe Vera $7.60
This is a Korean skin care product so it probably works amazingly well. It’s made with aloe vera and meant for soothing and hydrating.
It’s a very hydrating cream for those with dry skin, and states that it also reduces the appearance of pores.
I am not sure I will sample this product, as I have a ton of other moisturizers. If I decide to pass on this, I will either include it in a giveaway or pass it along.
Shangpree Gold Black Pearl Eye Mask (single pair) $6.00
Subscribers could receive these eye masks, or a sample of La Roche – Posay Active C10 Vitamin C Serum
I actually like under-eye masks like these, but always forget to use them. I have several pairs still left from a box that I got months ago.
This pair is suppose to improve firmness, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reduce puffiness, and diminish dark circles. Seems like it does just about anything and everything one could possible want.
I’ll try anything that may help with dark circles, but I’m not sure one use is enough to really know if this product works. We shall see!
Final Thoughts
Like I mentioned above, this wasn’t my favorite box. However, it is still a great box, especially if you love skincare.
The total value of my box is $94.60 which is an amazing value for a $15.00 box! I’m looking forward to July’s box (which I will likely receive in mid-August) and a few of the products that are supposed to be in it.
