My Banana Souffle Moisture Cream Review
What Is It?
Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream is a calming and hydrating facial cream. It is especially good for those with sensitive skin.
It’s a light yellow cream that’s also fairly fluid, rather than thick. The color and consistency remind me of Clinque’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, however the ingredients are much different.
There are 4 main ingredients in this cream:
- Banana: restores water depletion.
- Magnesium: calms the skin by reducing irritation and inflammation.
- Centella Asiatica: heals dry, irritated skin.
- Tumeric: soothes, calms and brightens.
There is a very light banana scent that’s barely detectable.
Who Is It For?
This face cream is especially beneficial to those with sensitive or dry, irritated skin, however, it’s equally beneficially to those without sensitivity, as well.
How I Used It
According to the directions on the package, this cream should be used after serums in the morning and at night.
For the longest time, I only used a serum OR a moisturizer. So, what’s the difference between a serum and moisturizer?
Basically a serum is more of a treatment. Think of it as a dose of vitamins. These are lighter and more readily absorbed into the skin. Which serum you choose should vary depending on your own skin’s needs.
A moisturizer is usually a thicker cream meant to seal in moisture and hydrate the skin.
So, I followed the directions by applying the Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream after toning, serum, and eye cream in the morning. I then gave it a few minutes to fully absorb before applying makeup.
Full disclosure: other skincare products that I used during this treatment period include Murad Hydrating Toner, Dr. Brandt Triple Peptide Eye Cream (amazing – worth every single penny!), Earth Harbor Marina Biome Brightening Ampoule, and Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask.
My Results
According to the Glow Recipe website, a study was done where 97% of the participants stated that their skin felt hydrated and replenished as well as soft and smooth. 94% felt the formula was gentle and non-irritating.
I completely agree that the cream makes my skin feel very hydrated. It was actually surprising how hydrated my skin felt, considering how light the formula is.
I don’t have sensitive skin, dry skin, or irritation, so it’s hard to report if the product was calming. I can say that it didn’t cause any irritation, even on my neck which can sometimes be sensitive to some products.
Though this cream does not specifically state that it reduces fine lines or wrinkles, I believe keeping the skin hydrated is the best preventative measure.
I plan to continue this product until the jar is gone. I’d estimate that it should last me another 3-4 weeks or so. If you use it twice a day, I’d estimate that it will last approximately 1 month.
Overall, I am super happy with the effectiveness of this cream and the overall hydration of my skin since I started using Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream.
How Much Does It Cost?
Glow Recipe’s products fall more in the mid-range for skin care. All of their individual products are priced under $50.
The Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream is sold in two different sizes. The retail price of the 25ml jar is $22.00 and the 50ml jar is $39.00. For how effective the product is, I definitely feel this is a very reasonable.
