What Is Agate?

Agate is a translucent crystal made from chalcedony and microscopic crystals of quartz that create bands or rings as it forms. It can be found in shades of white, gray, blue, green, pink, red and orange. Sometimes it is also found with druzy crystals. Its hardness is 7.

There are different types of Agate. Some of the more common types of Agate are Blue Lace Agate, Moss Agate and Fire Agate, though there are many, many more. Each of these different types has their own unique characteristics and uses.

Agate is very common and can be found in the United States, Brazil, Africa, India, Morocco, China, Australia, Mexico, Uruguay and the Czech Republic.

Chakras

Like Red Aventurine, Agate is associated with the heart and root chakras.

Its connection to the heart chakra will help you with self love and confidence.

The connection to the root chakra will help you feel more calm and centered.

Zodiac

Agate is linked to the astrological signs of Aries, Libra and Gemini. Agate is actually the birthstone for Geminis.

Benefits

Agate has countless benefits. Some of the major benefits you may experience from this crystal are:

  • Balance yin and yang (or positive and negative)
  • Builds self confidence
  • Improves focus and concentration
  • Raises consciousness
  • Overcomes bitterness
  • Promotes calmness

How To Care For Agate

Recharge and purify Agate by immersing it in clear water for 60 seconds. You can also remove any negative energy by smoke cleansing your crystals or recharge them with sunlight, moonlight or other crystals like Selenite.

Where To Buy Agate

Crystals should only be purchased from reliable sellers who source their products consciously. There are many fake crystals on the market and unethical practices in sourcing these stones.

We currently have consciously sourced Druzy Agate Spheres for sale in our Etsy store.
